Manufacturing Engineer

Frigid Fluid Company Inc. seeks a Manufacturing Engineer responsible for updating current manufacturing processes to save time and money while preserving quality and prioritizing safety.

Specific duties include: updating and cataloging old product prints with CAD drafting software; understanding and utilizing knowledge of product design, materials, fabrication processes, tooling, and production equipment capabilities to ensure quality control standards are met; evaluating, developing, and suggesting enhancements to manufacturing methods, tooling, and equipment; working with management regarding manufacturability of engineering designs and specifications to find potential new vendors to deliver quality parts on time; evaluating potential vendor’s capabilities to produce parts and assemblies, and on-time delivery of parts and assemblies that meet quality control standards; estimating production times, vendors, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions; analyzing and planning workflow for maximum efficiency; applying statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential; evaluating process improvements and cost analysis of capital investments in new equipment; and playing a key role in the development and design of new products. The Manufacturing Engineer will be required to complete the following major projects: Learning how to build our products, observing/operating lathes, drills, mills, assembly of parts and products; adding machining operations to VMC and CNC; analyzing quality control and safety of manufacturing to improve design and metrics; analyzing process of manufacturing to determine new machinery investments and processes to outsource; updating current drawings; developing new products – specifically, low cost lowering device, Inf/urn device and stand with complement URN vault, Pallbearer and streamliner design and packaging; and analyzing supplier cost. May require less than 5% travel within the U.S.

Position requires a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Manufacturing Engineering Mechanical Engineering, or a related field plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as a Design Engineer, Production Engineer, R&D Mechanical Engineer, Graduate Assistant and Teaching Assistant, or similar engineering product design and development experience.

Experience must also include: lean manufacturing with focus of Process engineering; design for manufacturing; quality control; solid product development; understanding of Flexible Manufacturing principles and apply flexible manufacturing based on monthly orders and requirements; working with Solidworks, MasterCam, VC++, and Minitab; GD&T; Model Based process design Engineering; CNC Programing, machine set-up, cutting tools; work across production and design and interfaces easily with other engineering disciplines; analyzing and consolidating information; work and co-ordinate with geographically diverse workers; continuous improvement methodologies and Six-Sigma such as Problem Solving, Standard Work, 5S, 3P, and TPM. Must be willing to travel 5% within the U.S.

Must have proof of legal authority to work permanently in the U.S. Full time position.
